I’m not sure therapy is right for me. How will I know?

Therapy can provide support and a new outlook on life, when you feel isolated, stressed and stuck. I offer a free 20-minute consultation by phone at (949) 478-1785 or you can email me with questions at laurakangtherapy@gmail.com.

How long are our therapy sessions?

I offer both 50-minute sessions and 80-minute sessions, depending on your needs or preference.

How long will I be in counseling?

The therapeutic timeline varies from person to person, depending on your specific needs or treatment goals.  I find that therapy usually lasts for 3-4 months with most of my clients on a weekly basis before we move to every other week or monthly check in sessions. I believe in brief, effective therapy, where we collaborate on treatment goals that are realistic and attainable so you can see positive change and growth in your life. We will evaluate your progress in therapy towards your goals regularly in order to note your progress and evaluate how treatment is going.

Do you take insurance?

While I do not currently take insurance, I can provide you with a “superbill” that you can give to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

If you don’t take insurance, how do you receive payment?

I accept cash or check.
